Urbanbella Brands salutes Sarah Breedlove, known to us as Madame CJ Walker.  Madame CJ Walker was the first self-made female millionaire making her fortune by developing and marketing a successful line of beauty and hair products for black women under the company she founded, Madame CJ Walker Manufacturing Company. Madame CJ Walker traveled throughout the United States selling her products and eventually she began to educate other black women in order to help them build their own businesses. She gave lectures on political, economic and social issues sponsored by powerful black institutions. At the time of her death she was considered to be the wealthiest African-American woman in America and a pioneer is the cosmetics business for black women.
